John and Dorothy Webb had been married ten years when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 1997. In 2003 an MRI showed John also had vascular dementia.

Through contact with Alzheimer's Australia (NSW) Dorothy has written several articles and spoken at Conferences in Australia, New Zealand and Spain about the difficulties faced by carers in these early years, giving encouragement to other in similar circumstances.
