Self-publishing is …
07 Jun 2013 by fionagatt

Blueink.com asked traditionally published authors to answer this open-ended question:

Self-publishing is …

The answers are insightful, honest and thought provoking. Here are two examples:

Richard Kadrey: “Self publishing is the literary equivalent of riding a Conestoga wagon into the West in the 1840s. You’re heading into largely uncharted territory where you might find a place to settle down. Or you might strike it rich. Whether or not those people actually read the eBook or still have it sitting on their “shelf” on their e-reader is another thing altogether.

The Amazon KDP free promotions are the double-edged sword for the author and publisher. They may get the book downloaded an impressive number of times in a short period of time but just how many knock-on sales it generates can be hard to quantify. Interestingly though, the last time we offered this title for free the second eBook
